RPG-Analysis: Daniel #2

Rpg Analysis Daniel #2: Dimension C-138, the Harbinger of Cataclysm

Spoilers up to chapter 121. Read that before reading this.

This analysis was a long time coming, but I felt like right now was a good time to release it. Considering the length of time since the last update on how his stats are working, some of you guys might feel overwhelmed. Fear not! Over the next few paragraphs, you’ll gain a solid ...

121 What Lies Around Us

I put a foot on the squirming creature, “Well, uh...It’s called Baldowah’s Wrath.”

Yawm turned towards me, finding my foot on the squirming thing. It latched onto me as Yawm lifted a hand,

“Let’s kill it...kill it with fire.”

I raised my hands, “Wait a second, let’s see if we can’t figure out what this thing is first.”

Yawm clasped a hand into a fist, “I don’t need to learn anything about this abomina...

120 Eyes of Old

Yawm dashed towards me, the ground cracking beneath him. I shouted, “Remember, we’re fighting to learn.”

He reached me as I flared my runes. He swatted the back of his hand towards me. It was a wild, unrestrained strike. I bent backwards, the tip of his finger snapping across my armor. He slashed his other hand, a joyful glee in the act. I took another step backwards, my feet sliding as his strike slipped just past my nose.

As his h...

I crossed my arms, “Where would we fight?”

Yawm lowered his arms, “In an arena I'll create. We won’t have to worry about destroying everything around us either. You won’t have to hold back.”

I frowned, “See, that’s what has me on edge. Why would we want to fight like that while going all out?”

Yawm narrowed an eye and widened the other, as if he was raising an eyebrow,

“To challenge one another, and for the...

I had fun writing this chapter. I feel like I'm back into the swing of things at least. Hope you guys enjoy the chap.

I shrugged, “Yawm’s been keeping me busy. I’m sorry.”

Althea narrowed her eyes and raised her eyebrows,

“That’s a pretty good excuse...I still missed you though`.”

She laid out on her bed, arms propping up her head and her feet kicking behind her. Her hair was messy, but in a sexy kind of...

117 Leverage

Guys, I red-did the last chapter and made it much better. I got back onto the basics, like setting the scene, using descriptions, and taking away a lot of the to-be verbs littering my prose. It made a world of difference imo. I also changed the chapter before it a bit as well. I’ll be posting regularly again, because I’m in a good place now to write more.

Hope the wait wasn’t to terrible, and here’s the chap guys. Let me kn...

The black vial exploded in front of me, cloaking me in a dense cloud of black smoke. I was right. Something changed their minds about leaving me alone. What exactly? I didn’t know. I did know they just tried murdering me. Those vials were dangerous after all. They mutated someone on touch. My armor made me different. It meant I didn’t burn and die in the charcoal cloud.

The acid was different. It hissed on my armor, melting through it in pl...

********************************

Different Pov this chapter.

We finally got onto this world. It took several mission’s worth of salary to hire a black market mage, but it was worth it. We had to. Getting onto a quarantined world was easy. Getting out was the problem.

Skyns was our solution. He was expensive too, but he had a good history of work behind him. We didn’t have to worry about him leaving us stranded. His repu...

114 The Distance

Hearing the words made me want to panic, but I stayed calm. I took a step back from Keeja,

“What do you mean run?”

Keeja’s head twitched. A moment later, I walked forward and placed a hand on its shoulder. I dug my armor through its skin, finding portions of eldritch and something else beneath its skin. Using my armor, I sapped up the clumps. As I did, Keeja’s hands shook.

More tears fell from the thing’s eyes before I fin...

I nodded, “Yeah, I am.”

Yawm leaned back all his weight onto his back foot, giving him room to peer at me,

“No fear? That’s disappointing. The most fearful candidates tend to last the longest.”

I raised an eyebrow, “Candidates?”

Yawm nodded his head, gesturing towards the doorway,

“Of course. Come to my study. I’ll discuss it there.”

We walked out of the viewing room and down the spiral staircas...

I tapped one of my fingers on the armrest of my chair,

“Why do you need her, and what do you intend to do with her exactly?”

Yawm steepled his fingers, “It begins with a story from my past. At one point, I was an avatar for Etorhma. I was someone he chose to enact his change onto this world. This may sound like a blessing, but I assure you, it was a curse.”

Yawm tilted his head, “In this case, I executed several very diffi...

111 An Enigma

Yawm was two heads taller than me. He was wider too. It was obvious that he was stronger than me. It was an immutable fact, and there was no way he didn’t know it either. Every part of this situation was under his control, and his overwhelming confidence made that clear.

Still, I had an act to keep up. I swallowed my awe and spoke with a firm voice,

“You already know me? Good. That makes this simpler.”

Yawm let out a slow, dee...

110 Yawm of Flesh

It was a weird feeling when the words left my lips. I didn’t expect them, but they fit what was going through my head. Maybe it was the hormones talking too. At that point, it was hard to tell.

A more surprising emotion was anxiety. All of the sudden, when I
thought of my meeting with Yawm, it made me nervous. As I laid there with
Althea, I reasoned through the sudden spike in dread. No matter how much I thought about it, it boiled down...

Ajax looked at me then back at Hod. He cupped his chin,

“Are...” He spread out his arms, “Wait, is this a human custom?”

Althea bust out laughing before I shook my hands back and forth, “Don’t worry. It was just a terrible joke is all.”

Torix massaged his temples with his bony fingers, “Hopelessly terrible jokes aside, I’ve already received the meeting date for you and Yawm meeting each other.”

Ajax crossed...

With that in mind, I kept my experiments tame. I wasn’t about to try and fuse to different existences together like Yawm was. My goals were simple: get stronger, faster, and better. Considering I could generate stats, that wouldn’t be too difficult.

The primary problem with my current strategy was time. Based on how long I’d had the rune on my left arm running, I gained about 8 strength and dex a day. That was an enormous amount over the ...

107 Ajax Volan

I watched the ball of light float over the city and reach the legion’s battle. Whenever the light hit the ground, I lost my vision. My vision returned a moment later. The light singed my eyesight. It was brighter than the sun.

A plume of dust rose above the point of contact. Another wave rippled across the city as the clouds above the impact zone expanded outwards in a circle. Another shockwave hit me, though this time it wasn’t nearly as p...

I frowned, “What?”

Ajax spoke with a voice like metal,

“We need to escape, before he awakens. You cannot fight him.”

I kept my guard up, “I don’t trust you.”

Ajax stepped forward, “Good. You shouldn’t. Not yet. I can promise you that there are other ways of handling Yawm besides fighting him. I can show you those ways, for something in turn.”

Althea skulked up, her form invisible and without sound. Aj...

For reference, here is Elijah's levels'n'stuff. I should have had it added at some point in the previous chapter, so sorry about that guys. I'm adding it now. I should have added a title for Dakmha too.

Here it is for both: Elijah Joan, the Fallen Seraph(lvl 3204) | Dakhma Wike, Blood of Bane(lvl 3314)

Elijah shoved the ball of energy towards my neck. My armor ripped open, a mouth full of teeth biting his hand. The energ...

The legion of soldiers thundered out. The roar of approval lasted for a full minute before I turned towards the barrier. Before we marched through it, I needed to finish off my speech with a bang. You see, Torix added a simple adjustment towards my own plan. It was centered around a show of strength. It was a simple set up really.

The monster density had increased over the last few days since the quarantine zone shrunk. By the time we reached t...

She ran up, grabbing towards the rifle. I lifted it up, grinning at her,

“Come on you gotta try harder than that.”

She morphed her arm, the oversized arm grasping the rifle. The strength of her grasp was tremendous. She leaned towards me, a full grin on her face,

“It’s good to see you too.”

I wrapped my arms around her and picked her up in a single armed hug.

“I missed you too.”

My head popped back, “Wait...You aren’t going to fight anymore...period?”

She shook her head back and forth, “No. I told you already. I’m done.”

I leaned down, my stomach sinking for a bit. Kessiah’s nose and eyebrows creased at me, like she was expecting me to condemn her. I wasn’t planning on it. It hurt losing her, I won’t lie about that. Kessiah was our highest level member. Killing another follower without her would...

Let me know what you guys think about this. I want to get an idea of the thoughts about the illustrations before I make it official.

Personally, I think it's awesome. I can get the artist to adjust some stuff though, like proportions, level of detail, etc. before he finalizes the artwork. The runic glyphs haven't been added yet either, so that's what he has left to finish.

Anyways, hope the new year's going good for you guys. Kick some as...

101 Breaking Through

I finished my war cry before falling back onto my knees. I glanced around at the destruction. Six blocks were leveled, piles of rubble all that remained of them. Gaping holes littered several stores nearby, and a few houses stood on their last legs.

Of in the distance, Torix’s jaw slowly reformed. His fire eyes were glowing, more like coals than flame. Kessiah was covered in the blood of the eldritch. The wounds on her were few. During ...

The confident smile on the mouths vanished. I dashed towards the monster, adjusting my approach. Kessiah shot out a lightning fast straight at my face. I sunk into the earth as I spun on my heels. Without having to even duck, I slid under the punch by sinking into the ground.

I slammed my fist into Kessiah’s stomach. It rattled my fist before Kessiah kicked at my legs. Using my overcharged runes, I jumped upwards. Kessiah’s kick glide...

The eldritch laughed, its wounded body shaking. It lifted its hand, glancing at its torn wrist,

“I do ponder in my own manner...Why am I not regenerating my wounds?”

“You own quite the life force for a being that tastes like dirt. We could combine our strengths. Would you be willing to join me and my many ...

I dashed towards the monster as it swung its sword of coalesced energy at me. Before the wave of blinding light washed over me, I dived into the ground. I drilled around and shot up from under him. I snapped my fingers a few times, finding my words, “Uh, uhm...Aatrox and Kade.”

The rest didn't last mostly because I didn’t want to sit there forever. I pushed myself up with my arms before dragging my legs from between the crystal plates.
