When starting a side hustle, start a side hustle based on your profession or based on something you like doing which has real world value.

Most of people don’t know where to begin or which side hustle to pursue.

If you search “side hustle,” you will see several places claiming that you can make money by taking online surveys or playing crypto games.

You may have come across various crypto games that allow you to earn tokens or real money. To be honest, you should not use it to gain money.

All of these are largely ineffective, and you are simply wasting your time on them.

Instead, spend your time mastering a talent and creating something that people will appreciate.

If you’ve been working somewhere, and you’ve got some talent. Concentrate on that talent and generate money from it.

This is why I always recommend that you concentrate on a specific skill. Most individuals start with something they hate or are not good at doing.

Once you’ve found this skill or what you are good at doing, quietly focus on building this side hustle for 1 year.

The world is growing more competitive, and there is no such thing as ‘free money’. Only your skill will allow you to succeed.

The initial phase will always be the toughest

When someone claims that you just need to work four hours a week and that you can boost your income with a side hustle. It’s the worst advice you can ever receive

When this hustle has been built to where things are consistent and reliable, then can you possibly be working for hours per week? Absolutely!

But certainly not in the beginning stages.

The initial phase is always the most difficult.

You will make countless mistakes so don’t be alarmed if you encounter a number of challenges at first. You can genuinely cure all of the wounds with time and effort.

Should you quit your job?

Absolutely not. How else will you get money to fund this idea?

“But I need work life balance”

“But I want to have a social life”

If you want work life balance and a healthy social life. Don’t try and build a side hustle.

You will need to sacrifice a lot of things like social events and especially weekends.

I understand you have a life, but you have to do it.

In life, there are NO PERFECT scenarios, there are only tradeoffs. You need to be willing to give up something, to get something.

Focus on a single platform(niche) and make the simplest plan possible

You may be an online creator, businessperson, entrepreneur, or someone who aspires to be one. 

You must know that a strong foundation is necessary while building a house. If not, it will undoubtedly deteriorate within a few years.

It takes careful preparation to launch a company, a business, or even a side hustle. And the work you perform should be straightforward.

if you want to start anything, plan it as simply as possible and then concentrate on a single platform.

Keep it simple stupid.

1. What do you do?

2. who do you do it for?

3. How can you do it?

4. Where are the people who need what you are doing?

People love to complicate things, and this is why most fail.

To overcomplicate things that are actually pretty simple is called ‘the complexity bias’.

Overcomplicating is a safety blanket. 

Why?

As long as you still have things to figure out, possible negative outcomes to weigh, and more information to gather, you don’t have to take action yet. 

Most things are simple, but people make them complicated so that they have an excuse not to move forward and potentially fail.

It’s a safe way to live, but I don’t believe our best lives are lived in safety. To experience greatness, we must take risks. And sometimes that means telling yourself that it's time to stop complicating things and just make the leap.

Sometime you have to tell your inner bitch to SHUTUP!

One of the keys to becoming a simplifier is to think of very simple, straightforward questions.

Amazon began as an online bookstore. It was basic enough, focusing on a single area i.e. books, and you know where it is right now.

“But I don’t have a skill or know what I am good at”

If you don’t currently have a marketable skill, then you need spend your time mastering a skill with market value and then turning it into a product or service

You may learn almost anything, such as:

Graphic design

Video editing

Video creating

Content writing

Social media marketing

Copywriting

Website designing

Coding

Selling digital products

Starting A social media page providing helpful information on a certain topic

Starting a lead generation business

These ideas I’ve just listed are mainly online, however there are plenty of offline and online side hustles you can do.

When you start, you will need to invest the early days in acquiring the skills and developing the offer/content.

Patience

A side hustle that generates passive income isn’t as easy as you think. But it’s 100% possible.

Patience is a huge flaw for many people.

They want passive income from a side hustle YESTERDAY or they’ll go on social media and cry that X hustle is a scam.

You need to become GOOD at what you are offering people / to the world

Making a full time doctors salary with part time hours doesn’t come from TRYING. It comes from getting good.

You don’t have to start out as good, but you eventually have to get good. This point is often overlooked.

Take extra courses, listen to podcast, read books about your niche and most importantly, put those things into practice.

Most people lie to themselves about the quality of their work.

That’s why it never turns into a side hustle that generates passive income.

Forget about money in the beginning, It does not matter. (Well it does, but not as much as you think it does)

The money at the start of any side hustle will be terrible. You probably will make ÂŁ0.00 or barely enough to buy a meal.

The illusion of passive income, in the beginning, acts as a qualifier. It gets rid of he people who aren’t ready, which is completely fine.

If your side hustle doesn’t solve a problem then it’s worth £0.00.

Just because you have a side hustle, doesn’t mean it has value.

Passive income is money you get for creating value. Value comes from solving a problem that people have.

For example


If you are good at social media marketing and a local business has problems with marketing their business or generating new leads

They will happily pay you X amount to solve that problem for them.

If someone needs help in their relationship and you are very good at handling relationships, they will happily pay you X amount to help them solve that problem.

If people are bored, you could be the one to solve that problem by making entertaining content online.

If people need fashion tips, you could be their image consultant.

These are just some I’ve randomly named at the top of my head.

That’s how business works. You solve a problem, people pay you for it.

Find a problem. 

Then do your research online to confirm the problem isn’t a fantasy in your mind. 

Find out if there are people who are actually doing well financially around said hustle.

Then build your side hustle around it.

You have to make time for it and it MUST be a priority

The mistake I see people make is they start a side hustle and then think they can work 15 minutes a week on it.

A side hustle needs to be scheduled in your calendar, so you don’t forget its significance and place other people’s requests around it.

Otherwise you jump from urgent task to urgent task and forget your own goals.

What gets scheduled, gets actioned. What gets actioned, becomes a habit.

Never ever stop learning

Whether you make ÂŁ50 a month or you are marking ÂŁ50,000 a month. 

NEVER EVER stop learning.

Always be listening to podcasts around your niches, taking good courses, paying for extra mentorship from good people you can learn from.

Don’t publish content or post your products online and then wait for traffic/views/clients/customers

People think they will make 1 post and then the sales, clients and views will just come in đŸ˜‚đŸ€ŁđŸ€Ł

 Nobody is waiting for you.

You have to earn audiences you don’t own by giving value.

Nobody is coming for your content. Nobody is dying to hear what you have to say.

So in the beginning you’ve got to sell yourself a bit.

In the beginning, ATTENTION will be your best friend, it will be more valuable than money.

I’ve known many people who gave up after 3 months. They think they’re special and the rules don’t apply to them.

They think the clients, views and audience will come to them when they don’t make an effort to garner any eyes or attention on themselves or what they are doing.

An idea that leads to passive income is meaningless without attention. Find ways to add value to others. That’s how you build an audience. 

But why do most people quit? Because this is not easy, it’s difficult to do this consistently.

However the things in life that aren’t easy are the most rewarding.

No matter how amazing your idea, service or product is, if you cannot sell, you will NOT MAKE MONEY

You MUST be able to sell to others.

You might have to create your online content in a way which sells people on WHY they should be a subscriber to your social media page.

Sales is one of the most important entrepreneurial skills entrepreneurs must possess.

The ability to sell is the number one skill in business. If you cannot sell, don’t bother thinking about becoming a business owner.

I know it seems harsh, but it is the reality.

Whenever you apply for a job, you must pitch yourself and your talents.

You must sell your offer whenever you generate content.

Similarly, when you make certain products, you must sell them.

Every industry in the world tries to sell something in order to make a profit.

If you are not the one selling, you are the one buying.

The concept of selling something to someone has a bad look on it.

Once the word “selling” is mentioned, people tend to immediately imagine a picture of a salesperson knocking from door to door to sell a product.

Most individuals shy away from selling to avoid rejection.

But I want you to look at “selling” as something positive.

Your product or service should be so good that it would be a DISSERVICE for you NOT to sell it to your clients.

However, you may think everyone could benefit from your product or service, it’s good to understand your niche target market.

Build your vetting process to where you can determine if the prospect is the right fit for you.

Sometimes it’s budget, sometimes it’s personality, sometimes it’s your ability to deliver what they want versus what they need.

Whatever it is, figure it out early so you don’t waste your time and theirs.

They only say this because they missed one of the above points. Anyone can quit after a month and use “it’s a scam” as an excuse so they can feel better.

Choose a side hustle, get good, take your time, accept £0.00 in the early days, add value, do the back-breaking work, make time, learn from people smarter than you, get clients and an audience by adding value, and remember it’s hard and it’s supposed to be.
