Hello there! Allow me to introduce you to the winner of this month’s fanart poll —as you might have seen already— Tachibana Makoto, from Free! 🏊🏻‍♂️

I don’t know why but I was a bit worried about this piece, particularly because I wasn’t entirely sure how to approach the character’s style. Something I noticed is that I generally draw (my) characters with a rather strong and square chin line and the style used in the anime shows them with a… pointy chin? I dunno, it’s a bit weird honestly but I had to find a way to translate that to my way of doing things aaaaand I guess I did a decent job? Haha.

Also, with this piece I had to step up my workflow because I did everything, including the final edits, using Clip Studio Paint on my iPad. You see, my computer is practically dead, hahaaaa… *cries* so I cannot use Photoshop to adjust, edit and export the final drawing as I would usually do. However that forced me to learn and experiment a bit with CSP and I’ve got to say that the results aren’t bad at all. Maybe I’ll keep on relying on CSP a bit more now, I mean, it’s not like I have any other choice… 😅

So yeah! I hope you like the final artwork and all the variations I included. It was fun working on them.
