Hello there, peeps! I hope you are having a lovely day. ✨

It has been around two weeks since I shared the sketch WIP of this illustration. Today, as you can see, I finally finished it and I am so happy to be sharing it with you. Let me get something out of the way: I loved working on this piece. It truly felt like time was flying... No pun intended, haha. I honestly cannot remember when was the last time I locked in like that and enjoyed working so much on a drawing. 💖

While I was wrapping up the final edits and adjustments, I got distracted by the thought that the first time I drew Toby –and Zach– was around ten years ago! I've been drawing these potatoes for almost a decade. Oof. I had to let that sink. Then, I grabbed my very first Moleskine sketchbook where they made their debut and stared for a few minutes at the first sketch I made of him in his angel-like form. Needless to say, he has come a looong way. UwU

As I mentioned in the sketch post, I drew some inspiration for this illustration from a song in 'my favourites' playlist on Spotify. The quote you see on the top is part of the lyrics and when I first listened to them I couldn't help but to imagine Toby extending his wings and defyyyying gravityyy~ *Ahem* Although the lyrics can be generaly interpreted in a romantic way, I like to think more about the feeling of freedom and liberty and Schwerelosigkeit they give me. Just letting yourself go and try to reach for whatever makes you feel free. I hope I was able to communicate that here. And I certainly hope we can all reach it. :D
