Hello peeps! :D

I wanted to close this week with something nice and sweet that I finished between commissions and preparations for the DoKomi next month. If you've been here for a while —and by that I mean since the very beginning— you might recognize this illustration as one of the very first drawings I shared of Zach back in 2021. Oh boy, what a ride it has been! You can check the original version below and see how much my art has evolved... and how I have bulked this boyo since then. I should probably stop... not. But seriously, I need to give them a consistent body type! 😭

The other day I was listening to the song that inspired the original illustration and searched for the file in my documents. I was hit by a wave of emotions and nostalgia when I found the PNG and opened it, the song still playing in my headphones. I don't know exactly what it was... But perhaps it was the remembrances of simpler times and the idea of me just drawing for the sake of drawing. So I decided to work on a re-draw! I told myself that maybe I could feel the same as I did back then.

And I did. My brain shut down while I worked on this new version, and the hours passed. I know Zach looks like a chef kiss 😘🤏here —I'm quite certain Toby would love to just lay on his chest while Zach hums the song he's listening to—, but I hope I was also able to communicate the joy, peace and solace that we can find in music and the things we love.
