Behind the Scenes - Holy Shirt!

So last month some of you might have noticed that my renders had a new element to them - cloth "ripping", as can be seen in Belle's giantess moment (it's like having a senior moment, but bigger).

The technique for doing this involves juggling between three programs and a metric butt-load of testing to see what looks good. The images above show various different attempts at rips/holes, and this video indicates the process that they go through to get that end result.

This model is also the first time that I've been able to get a model into the simulating program with the higher res breast graft that I use for large nipples (as seen towards the end of this vid). Between the two new tricks I've learned in the last month, I'm excited to what things I can pump out in the future.

If nothing else, expect more cloth ripping, shirt straining and wobbly boobies!

Thanks, I regularly get asked for insights so very happy to share with my patrons along the way

Thank you so much. Ah, Jay Videos are amazing, but i ignored the MD part mostly :(

Amaz2k12

Appreciate the posting of little tricks and insights!

You need a couple of extra plugins to get the imports and exports working with MD. Here is a bit of a tutorial to get the obj into daz, but you may need to search a few sources: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUBuoCTg2RU If I have time in the future I'll construct my specific process as a post.

Yes, I am trying Marvelous Designer too, but I still have my problems with the import / export. But the amazing cloth simulation would be phenomenal. Blender...Something I have looked at, but did not get it inside my mind right now.

Amaz2k12

To do this I used a combination of DAZ Studio, Marvellous Designer and Blender

What program did you use for the cloth again?

SuuLucoa

It absolutely does, I used the technique to get Belle's pants to rip in the Big Enough ending

B.E. Grove

This is awesome! Hope it works on pants as well ;)

jRook

Its worth the headache for how good it looks in the end!

B.E. Grove

Glad you like it! Its definitely taking things up a level.

B.E. Grove

Love all the effort you put into your work. Hope it's not more headache than needed once programs are running. As always community loves Grove and M'lady Grove. 馃槃

This is one step for a man, but a giant leap for the Grove.
