Love and Respect for Apr 5th Podcast

Greetings, it's time to get your submissions in for this week's podcast. Be sure to include your preferred name if it's different from what's listed on your Patreon profile. Please submit your entries by Wednesday at 5:00 PM.

FYI, I'll keep the description this week, but I'm thinking about retiring "The Wrong Question." We've had a couple fun ones, but it's been hard to get it to hit consistently, and for the past few weeks, I'd decided to cut it for time since we had so much good stuff to get to anyways. Let me know what you think.

Love & Respect:
Type your question, topic, or game in the comments below. If your entry is not selected, feel free to submit it again the following week. We appreciate your support and are grateful for each and every submission, if we're able to include them in the podcast or not.

The Wrong Question:
The idea behind The Wrong Question is to take a current topic that people are discussing, and then twist it into something a little out of left field. So, using the first week as an example, everyone's generally asking "What's Your Most Anticipated Game of 2024?" and I changed the date to 1994. The next week, we went with, "What can Sony do to get more subscribers to cancel PlayStation Plus?"

If you submit a suggestion for The Wrong Question, recognize that I'm only asking one question each week, whether that comes from myself or a patron submission, but if there's something I like, I will make a note of it to perhaps bring it up in the future.

Submissions should be quick one sentence questions without any additional preamble, although you can include a brief "off-air" explanation if you think that helps. Please only submit one suggestion for The Wrong Question per week, but feel free to submit to both The Wrong Question and Love & Respect.

Hello Allies, Persona 3 Reload has been such a joy for me to play, as I never played past the opening in the original on PS2. The one thing that think would have been a nice touch though would have been the inclusion of the female protagonist from P3P. So to my surpise, the modding community decide they wanted her in the game, and now they have a alot of work done on it. I feel like mod can sometime add some fun to video games, like replacing charcters like the first dragon in Skyrim with Randy Savage or Mr. X with Thomas the Tank Engine. However, mod that add removed content are what I think we need more of. My question is this, have any of you seen the progress on the female protagonist for P3R and what are some of your favorite mods? Love and Respect

Yo Allies, Between Final Fantasy 7 rebirth and X-men 97 I’ve been in 90’s nostalgia heaven for the past few weeks. It’s really incredible how both of these projects capture the feel and vibes of their original releases while changing and updating certain aspects for the better; especially, considering how different they both go about doing that (with X-men being a more faithful continuation and rebirth making much more bold choices). So my question is what lessons do you think other remakes or continuations could learn from these two releases (or any other recent high quality remakes like RE4). What makes these faithful love letters to fans instead of pandering cash grabs? Are there any upcoming remakes or continuations that you specifically think need to pay close attention to these titles? As always keep up the good work Love and Respect Mo Grant

Hey Allies, Many would agree that World of Warcraft is one of the most culturally significant games ever made. Some might point to the way it revolutionised a genre, the high quality gameplay, the strong characters, or the distinctive and rich environments. But one thing that cannot be ignored is "Make Love, Not Warcraft", a joint effort from Blizzard and South Park Studios, an episode of South Park that heavily features the game, seen by 3.1 million viewers at first airing. This episode, which went on to win an Emmy, proved to be time well spent for Blizzard. In 2006 the publisher was receiving 500,000 new subscribers each Quarter. In Q4, when the South Park episode aired, World of Warcraft Subscribers increased by over 1 million. In 2007, when the 10th Season went to DVD, a 14-day World of Warcraft trial was included, something that wasn't readily given out to anyone that visits the website like today. This brought me to an interesting set of questions I'd like to ask the panel. Below, I've listed the Top 10 TV Series of all time according to a January 2024 article on TimeOut dot com. I'd like you to suggest what partial game demo you would include with the Blu-Ray/DVD that would resonate most with viewers and effect sales of the full game. Better yet, what specific aspects about the demo will viewers most enjoy? Feel free to throw in some shows and ideas of your own! Love and Respect, Harrison 10. Succession (2018–2023) 9. Mad Men (2007–2015) 8. The Office (TimeOut specifies the UK version but feel free to consider both) 7. Game of Thrones (2011-2019) 6. Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997-2003) 5. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (1979) 4. The Wire (2002–2008) 3. The Sopranos (1999-2007) 2. Twin Peaks (1990–1991) 1. Breaking Bad (2008-2013)

Howdy, Allies. I’m taking a trip and I’ve packed my go to handheld: the PlayStation Portable. Going in there to update the music saved on it, I also checked out the custom themes I have saved on the PSP. (This was an available feature, not something that came from having hacked firmware). Sony let you install themes on the PSP and there were easy, accessible methods to create custom ones. I have custom themes for my favorite games of that era like Zone of the Enders 2, Front Mission 5, Final Fantasy Tactics, etc. I loved having themes on my PlayStation consoles, but there’s a satisfaction in making and installing one you made yourself. What’s your favorite dead console feature that will probably never come back? (I imagine custom themes is dead forever since platform holders wants to control the UI so they can advertise to you through it)

Hello everyone. At the beginning of the month I realized that my walls in my apartment are pretty empty, so I thought I could hang up something nice. So I went looking for cool video game pictures. But in the end there was nothing that completely convinced me. So I thought to myself, why not have something made that I like? Said and done. The result is now a custom artwork for every personal game of the year, starting with 2011. I didn't want to go back too far and Dark Souls was just the perfect start. My plan now is to add a new picture every December. Do you have any video game art in your home, and I mean more than just a poster or a figure from a collector's edition? P.S. Here is a picture of my new wall: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nJst4_1nbnW03bAKzTskaIOSQDQntynA/view?usp=sharing Thank’s and best regards from Germany Tim

Hey allies - I've been loving Pepper Grinder, and after finishing the main game, I decided to try beat all the time attack challenges as well. Mostly they are not too difficult, but there is one level (3-2 brittle glacier) that is randomly WAY harder than any of the others. After hours of trying, I learned that this is actually a mistake and the target time is due to be increase with the next patch. But after putting so much time in already, I decided to keep going anyway, and eventually succeeded in beating the bugged time! It was incredibly fun to try to perfect that level, and very satisfying to finally succeed. It almost makes me want to try speedrunning the rest of the game. Are there any games or particular challenges that you can remember enjoying putting in hours and hours of attempts before finally overcoming them?

Just chiming in about the wrong question. I appreciate trying to come up with and create new opening segments that requires fan feedback to do, but I've never personally found "the wrong question"that engaging. Mainly because it's kinda weird and hard to consistently get responses that land compared to previous fan participation openers. So if you cut it I'm sure I won't be the only person not sad to see it go.

Hi Allies, I was browsing through the Nintendo e-shop and saw many publishers have a spring sale going on. I thought I'd shout it out here because I was able to scoop up several bargains. For less than $100 total I got the following games: The Sinking City Deluxe Open Roads Don't Starve Bundle + Hamlet Don't Starve Together Brothers: A Tale of 2 Sons Persona3P + Persona 4G Bundle Inside Limbo Abzu The Game of Life Clue the Complete Detective Bundle Multimaze 3D One Night Burlesque Complete Edition There were hundreds of other games on the list that are very highly rated (and some not so highly) but I'm sure if you're looking for a game to snap up at a bargain to stick in your backlog for in-between huge RPG's, you're sure to find one you'll like for less than you expect. Hello everyone! What makes a good Hard Mode? After I wrote in a couple weeks ago reporting I finally rolled credits on Final Fantasy VII Rebirth at 125 hours, I'm another 65 hours later and done everything possible with the exception of the eight hardest Combat Simulations and the final boss gauntlet on Hard Mode. Yet, I feel like the fights on Hard are immensely imbalanced; Some of the bosses present little challenge and I've gotten through several first try without feeling pushed, but others have difficulty spikes that don't feel gradual, but rather extreme. I like being forced to have no access to items and needing to conserve magic since it doesn't recharge (sans a neat work-around in some cases) as special hooks, but aside from that and the typical "More Health, more damage given and less damage taken" from enemies, I don't think there's anything else about it that stands out. With keeping in mind "Hard Modes" must vary given whatever a genre a game is in, are there any elements that can be universally applied which go beyond combat lasting longer because of the aforementioned adjusted values? Thanks for taking this submission if you do and stay Easy fellow Allies!

Greetings Allies, What's a gaming franchise that lost you after the first game? I was playing Gravity Rush and loving it. I hopped straight into 2 after finishing 1 and had such a miserable time that I quit halfway through.
