2024-07-03 15:30:11 +0000 UTCHey Allies, Last year, I wrote in to the May 12, 2023 edition of the Easy Allies podcast to express my excitement and fears over a rumoured Dead Rising reboot. I was worried that Capcom would not have faith in the original formula and instead use the cult classic brand to create something entirely new. Lo and behold, a "remaster" of the original game has been revealed at this weeks Capcom Direct, and the verdict is... I think this might be the definitive way to play Dead Rising. Not only was I encouraged to no end that the director and producer seemed to have a reverence for the original game, but the new remaster looks beautiful. The gameplay has been modernised in just the right way, with autosaves, the ability to advance time, the (hopefully) improved Survivor AI. The only real bummer is that TJ Rotolo wasn't asked to reprise his iconic role of Frank West from the original game. To turn this into a question, do you think this is our chance to get Capcom to believe in Dead Rising again as a franchise? Could this lead to a Dead Rising 2 remaster, or better yet, a brand new game? Love and Respect, Harrison

2024-07-02 09:11:49 +0000 UTCHello allies. I’m currently in the middle of my 6th playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077 and I’m still impressed by the amount of custom animations this game has. Characters take drinks in their hands, move chairs, pass items to each other and otherwise interact with the surrounding props, which goes a long way in creating a feeling of seeing real people inhabiting a real place. Unfortunately, as far as I know, there are no tools that can generate or otherwise drastically simplify mass production of such animations, which means that creation of such immersive open worlds requires more manpower that most studios are capable of allocating to a project. Which is really unfortunate as I would love to get immersed into more open worlds, yet Cyberpunk 2077 remains the only game with such level of details even though it was released more than three and a half years ago. My question to the panel: what standout games or features you would love to see more of, but can’t reasonably expect to?

2024-07-02 08:07:49 +0000 UTCHey allies! I have a “game” that may drive Huber crazy. I have a list of words, or phrases. Say the first game that comes to your mind when you hear these words. I wonder if any of the allies will think of the same game. Again the FIRST game that comes to mind. Try not to change your answer mentally. 1.) classic 2.) overrated 3.) perfect 4.) patriotic 5.) anime 6.) 10 out of 10 7.) sexy 8.) sequel 9.) katana 10.) wallet 11.) GOTY 12.) quarter circle forward 13.) shotgun 14.) Epic 15.) Super Famicom

2024-07-02 03:55:57 +0000 UTCHello Allies Why does Huber like Mario Party Superstars so much? I was excited when they announced the game but when I actually played it, I hated it. The game is too friendly when almost all the blue spaces have the clovers on them hat give you free items or 15-20 coins. Even Boo is free to steal coins when it used to cost 5 coins. What really disappointed me the most was that the winner of the mini game was not the only player to get coins, it used to be that you had to be good at the mini games to be good at mario party. Within my family and friends we hated the game so much that we would get my Wii U out of storage and hook up that cable monstrosity because I had purchased mario party 2 on the Wii eshop a few years earlier. Luckily now the first 3 mario party games are on the switch and we can play those with N64 controllers. To us Mario Party is a game of uneasy alliances where you did what ever it took to make sure you stayed in 1st place or take down whoever was, whether it be sabotaging team mini games to make sure your teammate wouldn't have enough coins for boo or a star, or even purposely landing on bowser in hopes that he takes coins or stars from the competition. Would love to hear your thoughts. Love & Respect Sir Alfred

2024-07-02 00:02:17 +0000 UTCGreetings Allies, What’s your gaming backlog hygiene like? I have been using the GG app (like backlogged) to start tracking my currently playing games and it’s helped me manage those play throughs a bit more. I can shelve games I want to come back to or even mark as abandoned for games that didn’t catch my interest. Recently I have been able to focus more on a title I know I’ll enjoy rather than get in that zeitgeist. Got any other tips for clearing games off the backlog?

2024-07-01 23:56:35 +0000 UTCHello everyone, I'm in the midst of a gaming rut where, since I finished Hellblade II and the System Shock Remake a month ago, I haven't played anything since due to feeling a complete lack of interest and total apathy for pretty much everything. I've recently started therapy (shout out to BetterHelp), to get started on fixing my situation, but for having gone so long without playing a single game, it did leave me wanting to ask you: What's the longest you've ever gone without playing anything, and if you're willing, what was the reason? And subsequently, what was the game and/or reason you were able to get back into the swing of playing again? Thanks for taking this submission if you do and stay Easy fellow Allies!
