Hi Allies, with the successful Paris Olympics just finished I wonder what you think about the missed opportunity for a game tie-in? Mario and Sonic at the Olympics have progressively got better and it was a surprise to not see a 2024 version. With Tom Cruise bringing the Olympics to your home turf - who’d you like to see develop a new game, L&R Michael Seaward

Hey Allies, No doubt you're going to talk about Tango and Hi-Fi Rush this week. One minor downside of this news seems to be that The Evil Within IP has been retained by Xbox, separating it from Tango. Assuming that Xbox does the right thing in due time and gives the greenlight for a new Evil Within project within Xbox Game Studios, which of their studios should be the one to take the reigns? What about their past work gives you confidence they'll be able to pull off a brand new Evil Within Game? Love and Respect, Harrison

Dear Allies. I know that you can't cover every game out there. But they way you missed Cross Code in 2018, aside from a Huber Hype impressions in 2020, has remained a point of sadness for me ever since. It is one of the most criminally underrated games of the past 20 years. So please, I implore you, do not overlook the studio's upcoming game "Alabaster Dawn", as it looks like an absolutely gorgeous spiritual sequel to Cross Code. Love & respect

Back in the early days of Easy Allies, there was a discussion about what the Nintendo NX hardware could be. Of course the NX eventually became the popular Nintendo Switch, but after the unpopular design of the WiiU, some Allies were nervous about what Nintendo would do next. However, I distinctly recall Kyle Bosman saying, "who are we kidding? The NX could be a ball of nails that you have to swallow to play and we'd be like, 'okay, I'll buy it.'" And it's true; I feel like no matter how weird their next console is, or what strange catch or business practice Nintendo attaches to it, I'm going to buy it if that's the only way to play the next mainline Mario and Zelda. Even if it cost over $1,000 USD and included pop-up ads you couldn't turn off and required the user to sign an agreement to let them use your face to train A.I. I need my next Nintendo Console. So my question to the panel is: can you think of ANY personal deal breaker for the next Nintendo Console that we're all calling "The Switch 2"?

Hello everyone! In light of Game Informer's closure, I've undertaken Project CGI: Complete Game Informer This is where I'm attempting to obtain and own each and every single 368 issues of the magazine's run. Still have a bit to go as I'm going to wait each time I get my paycheck to go on a spending spree, but it does have me wanting to ask you: Have you ever wanted to have a complete collection of something related to gaming and if so, what was it? And if you couldn't reach full completion, how close did you get? Thanks for taking this submission if you do and stay Easy fellow Allies!

Hello allies, I'm hoping you got a chance to check out some of the Unfiction projects I suggested last time. I’m happy to hear Isla wanted to look more into them, and I think Huber would like them since he loves horror, which those specifically were. This time, still in the Unfiction genre, I wanted to see if you guys have played any Unfiction games without realizing it, supposedly canceled or recalled games from early generations, games that make you question “did this game actually exist all those years ago?” Catastrophe Crow, Shipwrecked 64, Basilisk 2000, Valle Verde and Petscop just to name a few. These are actual games you can play right now that play off that they did exist in the past. My question is this, have any of the panelist played any of these games or games in this style, and if so, what are some of your favorites. Love and respect

Hello there Allies! This year's Summer Olympics have come and gone with some very notable highlights such as Assassin's Creed guy, the first breakdancing Olympics competition, the Turkish Shooter, Snoop Dogg, and of course, Tom Cruise being Tom Cruise. With the Olympics eSports looming over the horizon, I thought I would ask an Olympian-style question: What are some of the key aspects that the Olympics Committee needs to nail in order to successfully pull off the first ever Olympics eSports event? Not what video games are there necessarily, but what do they need to do compared to other big eSports events like EVO, League of Legends Championships, Overwatch Tournaments, and the Esports World Cup to make it truly stand out from what has already been done in this medium? Love and Respect, Kristen PS: Good luck with having to deal with the madness of the Olympics in LA for 2028.

Hey there Allies! Here’s a trivia question; what do all of these games and their creators have in common? Fear the Spotlight. Thank Goodness You’re Here. A Short Hike. Inscryption. Buckshot Roulette. Pools. Celeste. Murder House. Clickolding. Any guesses? These games are all well-known and regarded, but you may not know that their creators all got their start on Itch.io, a platform full of creative individuals and their projects. Ever since I first played the Haunted PS1 Demo Disc some years ago, a free game you can download that collects demos from tons of indie creators, I’ve become enamored with Itch.io. Every couple weeks, I’ll download a big set of games people put out, and it’s scratched an itch that I can only describe as similar to browsing games made for Flash back in the day. They’re short, experimental, rough and sometimes broken, but there’s a heart and good supportive community visible throughout. Despite it being such a cool place to explore, many of these creator’s older projects largely go unnoticed, and usually only their big published hit will garner attention. Fear the Spotlight was released on Steam in 2023, being featured on the Haunted PS1 Demo Disc a year prior, but was taken down for improvements just months after its release. Yet many didn’t hear about it at all until Blumhouse picked it up for a rerelease. And this isn’t an isolated incident as with many of the games I mentioned earlier. These developers and most of their projects often don’t get public attention until their big hit gets picked up by a bigger publisher. It makes me wish that more people would be able to experience the full breadth of what these creators have made; maybe a “Creator’s Corner” section on the Playstation Store where people can freely try these sorts of projects without devs having to pay for a bigger license on multiple platforms, or wait for a publisher to pick them up and advertise them. How can we create more safe communities like Itch.io to foster developer creativity and encourage communication and exploration? Or is the reality that these platforms would possibly only cater to the minority willing to seek out and play small, niche projects and discover their creators? Love and Respect as always, Brian from Happy Gaming

The resurrection of Tango Gameworks is a rare piece of truly good news in an increasingly dire industry. Hi-Fi Rush deserves its acclaim and dozens of developers are no longer searching the classifieds. This is, unequivocally, good. And yet I can't shake the feeling that by December 31st 2029, we'll hear news of Tango's second shuttering. It's estimated that HiFi Rush sold less than 300k in its opening month and significantly less when launching on Playstation. Evil Within and Ghostwire do not light up the sales charts. And while we always want to support the artists, you cannot pay your mortgage in industry accolades and GOTY nominations. Even projects designed to be small need to turn a profit. Tango is an industry darling, but is all they are? How can they avoid a similar fate after a decade plus of underperformance?
