Easy Allies
2024-11-14 10:51:28 +0000 UTCSo after around 250hrs in Elden Ring and 100 in the DLC more recently, I had a hankering for a deep RPG set in a dark fantasy world... I dabbled in Dragon's Dogma 2, I though long and hard about No Rest of the Wicked... then in walked Path of Exile. Now don't get me wrong... I have my fair share of frustrations with game, it's to be expected with a somewhat bloated forever-game from 8 years ago. But as of right now I'm totally hooked... the ability to dive so deep into RPG systems and layer my build with the right mix of defences, buffs, debuffs and DPS, is soooo satisfying... I never expected to fall so in love with ARPG's... I know Isla has recently found a passion for Warframe, and I wonder if Damiani fell the same way for MMO's with FFXIV? What are the games or genres that have led you down a new gaming path? What unexpected turns has your gaming life taken and why? Much Love & Respect Slimbone

2024-11-14 10:35:38 +0000 UTCYo Allies, I just finished Echoes of Wisdom last weekend and absolutely loved it! One of the many things about that game that I loved was getting to explore a vastly updated version of the ‘A Link to the Past’ map. This was so much different than when we revisited it in ‘A Link between Worlds’ as it has been greatly expanded with new towns, new regions, the addition of new races with the Gorons and Sea Zora. As I was exploring the map I realized how much I would love to see this remix treatment given to older maps like Ocarina of time or Twilight Princesses' map with expanded borders, new towns/races and slightly different geography. For example, a new game using Ocarina’s map with an actual fully realized Gerudo town, a new Hateno-esque hylian village, and a snowy Hebra mountain added alongside death mountain would be so interesting to see. But what do you think, would you like to see future Zelda games remix the old maps like Echoes of Wisdom did or do you just want brand new maps for new games? If you want more remix maps are they any in particular you want to see and what would you like them to add? As always, keep up the great work Love & Respect Mo Grant

If you could fund any single game and didn’t need to think about how well that game would sell, which studio would you hire and what would you ask them to do? I would hire either CD Project Red or Remedy and ask them to make a game that would have the best possible PC you can build as the minimum system requirement.

But you have no games. GameFly says they can bring you 5 games only before the super-mega-game-eater destroys all games in existence outside the islands protective shield. My roommates also watched it with me and I had to shut them up because they kept talking (to be fair, their English is poor at best so they couldn't understand a lot of the dialogue). We have conversations about talking during movies, but did you ever have a situation where someone kept talking during a video game and you had to ask them to be quiet?

Metroid Prime 4, Wolverine, Elder Scrolls 6 and Silksong have been announced but, have left us high and dry with news. As the hype machine for each dies down or idles, what do you think is the perfect time frame to reveal then release a game to catch maximum hype? Personally, 3-5 months seems best for me to stay in the zeitgeist.

I just finished up my first playthrough of Pokemon HeartGold this week just shy of 150 hours and while I'll look at it fondly, right towards the end I experienced a rather annoying hiccup over the last five or so hours: The A button on my DS is somewhat permanently pressed, meaning that I had to use the touchscreen to interact with the world and sometimes everything was non-responsive or finicky. I tell you this to ask you: What has been some of the most aggravating issues you have had with controller malfunctions or other hardware mishaps that made games difficult to play? Perhaps there is no month more demanding than October when it comes to releasing games of a certain vibe. This begs the question – are there other times in the year that make an ideal moment for a game's release? I've created a list of days, and would love to hear if the allies have a dream game, or genre that they might associate with that time of the year.
