Love and Respect for the May 9th Podcast
Added 2025-05-05 22:29:01 +0000 UTCIt's time to get your questions in for this week's podcast. I'm not entirely sure what all we'll be talking about this week, although I suspect we will get in some late thoughts on that GTA delay, there's a Mafia gameplay reveal Thursday, and the new Gears of War remaster that was announced. I'll be flying to Montreal for the next couple days, plus Huber and I are playing as much DOOM as we can, so I'm not entirely sure what we'll have for game impressions. (We're planning to post the DOOM video separately on Friday.) Oh, and yes, if you're catching the livestream, we will be shooting early this week, roughly at 2:00 PM PT.
Type your question, topic, or game in the comments below. If your entry is not selected, feel free to submit it again the following week. We appreciate your support and are grateful for each and every submission, if we're able to include them in the podcast or not.
Please submit your entries by Wednesday at 5:00 PM. Be sure to include your preferred name if it's different from what's listed on your Patreon profile.

2025-05-08 23:10:20 +0000 UTCGreetings and salutations Allies, With Microsofts announcements of increasing console and game prices, it seems like it's getting harder and more expensive to be a gamer these days. While I personally could afford 80 dollar games, on principal I refuse, but I'm sure there are a lot of people who just can't afford those prices at all. So I have a few questions in regards to these price increases. Do you think these prices are here to stay or is there a chance this is only temporary? Do you think Sony will follow up soon? While I expect the console will probably go up here like it has everywhere else, I'm hoping they won't increase game prices as a marketing maneuver and earn some good will, especially now that EA said they wouldn't increase their pricing on games I'm hoping that could happen. And finally what are your thoughts on the possible long term ramifications this will have on the industry as a whole? Do we think the industry is going to implode in the future? With an audience not growing and other forms of entertainment taking time from games, do these prices drive away people from being a gamer anymore? Thanks for your time and introspection.
