Turkey Nominations!
Added 2025-11-18 20:49:05 +0000 UTCGreetings, since next week is Thanksgiving, I'm looking to continue our tradition of naming the Top Turkeys of the year. (No particular number.) However, this year I'm also asking you to nominate any moments, news stories, companies, or even Allies that may qualify.
The general definition of what counts as a "turkey" is somewhat open to interpretation, but generally we're looking for moments that would elicit a facepalm. For instance, allegedly, the CEO of Krafton asked ChatGPT how to get out of paying bonuses to the Subnautica devs so he didn't look like a pushover. So, we're looking for things that are a bit on the embarrassing side or when someone made the wrong call, and we want to be able to keep it somewhat on the lighter side where we can all have a good laugh. If you have a link to a news source to back up your story, that would be incredibly helpful as well.
We certainly won't read everything that's submitted, but we appreciate everyone who sends in a suggestion.

The Biggest Turkey is GTA6 getting pushed back another six months as it undergoes controversial union busting tactics by firing dozens of employees seeking to form a union. Meanwhile, some executive's kid leaks development footage and no consequences were publicly made! I'm convinced this game is in Development Hell and Feature Bloat, and the fact that it's not coming out on PC at launch means there's a lot more going on with this game's development than anyone is able to explain.

They have 1500 less employees since the start of 2025 so they are laying off staff or not rehiring others. They simultaneously have blamed their lackluster sales on, "Gamers are playing less games and focusing on those that have microtransactions" while also just noting that Assassin's Creed is doing better than expected, the Splinter Cell Netflix series doing well, and that Rainbow Six is not doing as well. What is it Ubisoft?! Sounds like your single player games are doing just fine while your games as a service game is lagging behind. They are run by inept people who have no idea how to value ANYTHING, which is why they literally had to freeze trading of their stocks because they reported their finances incorrectly to the tune of 286 million Euro's in loans they had to pay back immediately, and take a HUGE influx of investment from Tencent. How do you have Assassin's Creed, Farcry, Rainbow Six, Splinter Cell, Just Dance, Rayman/The Rabbids, and a bunch of other IP's available to you that are some of the most iconic and best selling franchises and you're still hemorrhaging money?!? Cause Ubisoft is a big spatchcocked turkey. - Jeff Kendall
