Salutations, Easy Allies. I hope you're all having nice autumns! I'm writing this after the news came that Xbox is initiating yet another price increase, this time with their dev kits. I now believe Sarah Bond and Phil Spencer are deep state agents employed by Ouya to attack the enemy from within. It is really sad that MS can't even go 1 week without bad news as it again reminded me of how strong Xbox used to be Because it was so fun to watch you guys try to guess whether or not a game got a delayed release on other platforms, I took a look at my list and realised there’s more than enough for a part 2 in the Xbox 360 library. Same rules as before, but as a refresher - you must guess if a game was a timed exclusive, or just a regular exclusive/multiplatform on release. Loser is sold to Microsoft. Last week's loser was Damiani. Michael Huber - do what must be done. Without further ado - IT'S TIME TO TIME. Q1) Bomberman: Act Zero (2006) A) Timed B) Not Timed Answer: Not Timed! COVID 20, also known as “Bomberman: Act Zero”, never escaped the 360. Q2) Pac Man Championship Edition (2007) A) Timed B) Not Timed Answer: Timed! Pac Man CE got a port on mobile devices and PSP a few years later, and would get a re-release/update in 2010 for PS3/360. Q3) Vanquish (2009) A) Timed B) Not Timed Answer: Not Timed! Vanquish is a normal multiplatform release. Q4) Beautiful Katamari (2007) A) Timed B) Not Timed Answer: Not Timed! Beautiful Katamari was an odd exclusive. It’s not a spinoff, it’s the 4th mainline Katamari that was planned to release on PS3/Wii, but was cancelled due to technical issues on both platforms. Shoutout to Once Upon a Katamari! Q5) Left 4 Dead 2 (2009) A) Timed B) Not Timed Answer: Not Timed, it came out on PC the same day. Fun Fact: Both Left 4 Dead games have never been released on a Nintendo or Playstation console. Q6) Limbo (2010) A) Timed B) Not Timed Answer: Timed! Limbo would release on PS3 in July 2011, and to other platforms in the ensuing years after. Q7) Alan Wake (2010) A) Timed B) Not Timed Answer: Timed! Alan Wake was exclusive on release, and got a PC release in 2012. It wouldn't reach Playstation and Nintendo until 2021 with the remaster. Q8) Saint’s Row (2006) A) Timed B) Not Timed Answer: Not Timed! The first Saint’s Row never received a PC or PS3 version. Q9) Final Fantasy 13 A) Timed B) Not Timed Answer: Not Timed! The game was released on both platforms with Lightning speed. Not quick enough considering Japan got FF13 9 months after the rest of the world. FINAL QUESTION NUKE: Fez (2012) A) Timed B) Not Timed Answer: Timed! The infamous Fez was only on Xbox 360 from April of 2012 to May of 2013 when the PC version was released. It would receive a Playstation release in 2014 and a Switch remaster in 2021. This game was entirely composed of pure exclusives, but I can tell you now, it would be a completely different story if I was to use Xbox 360 console exclusives that also came out on PC. Insane library. Thanks for playing guys, and thanks for doing what you do. Love and Respect!

2025-10-22 21:08:29 +0000 UTCHey Allies, A few months ago Final Fantasy X dev Koji Sugimoto did an interview where he expressed confusion over why people would intentionally make a game look retro or dated when he worked so hard to push past those limitations back in the day. One of the comments in the thread about the article rationalized that, in an addition to nostalgia, some genres “just feel right” with older graphics. They use PS1 era graphics and Survival Horror games as an example saying how the jagged low poly characters, warped textures, and low draw distance all added to the overall atmosphere. So my question this week is kinda of a two parter and I was wondering what is your take on both, Sugimoto’s initial comment (old limitations becoming modern tends) as well as if you think there are any other genres that feel fight with retro styled graphics. Thank you for taking my question if you do and stay easy, Allies Mo Grant
