Hi Allies! My Love & Respect question is inspired by Hollow Knight: Silksong. I’ve seen so many players say this is the first time they’ve ever gotten this far in a truly unforgiving game. Even if very hard games are not usually their thing, the world is so brilliant and gorgeous that they’re pushing past their limits. For me, having finally 100%ed it, some of those bosses are certainly among the hardest things I’ve ever done in any game, which made me wonder: what’s my hardest challenge *ever* in gaming? I’ve beaten plenty of brutal bosses and white-knuckle sequences, but Super Mario Galaxy 2’s The Perfect Run still tops the list. I remember stocking up on 1-ups, watching them plummet to around 30, and finally—miraculously—finishing the level. Since you pick up extra lives along the way, the total failures were probably over one hundred. I don’t think I’ve ever tried anything else in a game that many times. So: what gaming achievement made you most proud this year? Where does it rank in your personal all-time list? And, of course: what sits at number one? And of course, congrats on 500 episodes: a grand achievement in and of itself!
