Still plugging away

No reason for any delays other than compiling a very big chunk of models for this week and some very slow upload speeds.. but while im waiting for that I'll just keep making more things too upload... :)

Well, it was a long day but I managed to get 99% of the Darth Vader armor done, literally all I have left to do is the Chest pack and its done (I left that till last as it was the easiest part really)  (I would attach an image but that right now I cannot even do, my uploads are jamming at 10%.. very frustrating)

This is totally 501st spec. The belt passage through the belt packs is 6cm wide, which fits the 501 spec 5.7cm wide belt. Everything else has been scaled and pretty much procrastinated over to ensure it can be approved if that's what you're going for.

Oh and there's a new Darth Helmet coming too..   So along with the reveal helmet there will also be a normal wearable helmet to go with this armor set. Shoulders are as the movie, no back behind the neck for easy application.

As I said in a previous post, all Levels will be getting access to a tonne of models this week, The Darth armor will be available to Level 2 and above, but dont worry Level 1 subscribers you won't miss out either, lots for you also.

Anyway, still a bit to do will let you all know when things are uploaded.. very sorry for the delay in that, its just slow as slow can be, im hitting about 9kbs and alot of them are  just hanging, I may even just send a USB stick to a friend and get him to upload them for me if this continues.

Yes, it is quite different to the reveal helmet. That one was never really meant to be 501 (and I have to be honest they have very little accurate info about the reveal mask on the 501 spec site) but a stock vader helmet, yes plenty to go on with that one so it was a lot easier to get to spec. The armor is more to spec than most of the ones I've seen. I have seen people get approved with shins that don't even have the depressions on either side leading down to the foot and as much as a pain in the ass they were to do (just a bad angle) I did them anyway because I just don't see the point in making anything now that's not as accurate as I can make it. Releasing inaccurate models just leads to more work for me down the road and I would much rather do all that work while I'm actually making the thing, not re-visiting a model I did 3 years ago which had often been the case. All the boxes have inserts for LED's too etc

Will the helmet be to 501st spec as well? I almost bought your old reveal helmet, but it didn't look quite right to be (cheeks too round, etc). I just signed up for Level 3 because I've been looking for a screen accurate 3D printable reveal helmet for quite some time, and I just heard you're about to release the armor and a new helmet. I'm pretty excited!

Sweet, I really need to get my self a second 3D printer as I've got such a long list of your designs I need to print lol. I'm still in the middle of printing the first Vader helmet πŸ˜‚
