That's an interesting perspective. I guess I could relate a bit since I felt my life started when I did realize I had only one life.

2024-03-29 15:47:31 +0000 UTCAs a < 25-year-old, I've always felt life is transient. "Your 2nd life starts when you realize you only have one life". I don't know who said that but that statement resonated deeply with me. For now, my aim is to go for "the 2.5th or 3rd life", where I know I've lived a good life (I'm still "trying" to be a better person everyday). I am ready to go anytime if nature wills it; I would like to die content and peacefully though. About the time-ticking thing: I believe that EVEN the number of time you have left is transient. Let's say, hypothetically, the grim reaper comes and tells you "at this state of living, you have X time left". However, knowing how much time you have left drastically alters the mindset, disposition, perception (and much more) of the person hearing it, supposing that it is indeed true (that the person has X time left). So, IF there were a grim reaper telling me that, I would laugh and said "I know better than to be believe that surely I have X time left". How badass would that be?

2024-03-10 21:13:25 +0000 UTCI find it very ironic that humans are the only creatures in existence that turned time into a ressource. Everything else just lives moment to moment and is just fine. This also lead to creating a fear that is unique to the human race: the fear of running out of time. For me personally: I live my life the same way I always did, without regrets, without hesitation, without holding grudges. I am ready to go today or in 40 years.
