Also , keep in mind: there was no binge watching , so you had to tune in every Thursday night 8pm to rewatch old episodes until they announced the new season, and that was IF it was coming back. It was a funny episode but at the same time I remember having a sad feeling. I believe My Martin did BAD BOYS after this season.

2024-09-10 03:31:40 +0000 UTCYes exactly Our minds went Straight to "please let martin be on for another season" because back then a TV Show's season would end in early or late May. We would have to wait until sometime in July to see if you're favorite Show got picked up for another season or did it get cancelled. A lot of good TV Shows ended with cliff hangers like this & Never got picked up for another season. Could you imagine Martin ending after just two seasons and with this cliffhanger. Thank God Martin was so popular that it lasted for 5 seasons. If it wasn't for the Drama behind the scenes during season 5. I think Martin could've lasted 3 or 4 more seasons.

Martin was banned from NBC/Saturday Night Live after his opening monologue on February 19, 1994 for going off script and making jokes about female genitalia.

2024-09-07 04:23:31 +0000 UTCI think at this point in the 90's people were kinda use to cliffhangers, especially because of all the shows from the 80's that were notorious for them, like say Dynasty, Dallas etc. I remember people knowing it was going to come back but anticipating. And back in the 90's you didn't have to wait a whole year for another season. The shows probably went off early in the year and the new season was back on in September.
