March 2023 Summary post

So, another busy month came to an end. Not the easiest month as well. I was expecting to take a rest but that PC tragedy occurring in February made me going even deeper in my burn out and spoiled the month for me, I didn't want to work on commissions anymore no matter how good they're but I had to force myself to payback for all the help people generously gave me to get my computer back. It was a classic procrastination cycle of "I don't want to do comms because I want to do personal art and I can't do personal art because I have to do comms" but, as you can see, it still ended fine, I did 4 commissions and 3 personal artworks, not to mention aaaaall the pixel art. I'm not sure how many people here liked it as it's a very niche art genre but given the fact that most game update posts gained maximum number of likes I usually get here it's all good. Maybe it's not the most content-saturated month but still not the most stagnated one, especially with all the burn-out and procrastination standing on my way and also me being busy reading about old computers for my game project and studying CSS for my wiki project.

But speaking of stagnation, the things are not going well with the number of subscribers here, for a 4th month already since December. It's a constant ups and downs bullshit which ends with no drastic downfalls but no good progress either. The number of patrons in December was 58, fell to 56 in January, then raised again and reached 60 in February and as for March, I was expecting a little progress this time, the highest number was reached in March 25 with 61 subscribers and I was happy to see it then BLAM, a fucking decline, whole 7 people unsubscribed me in three days before charging day just out of the blue. You can see it on the first picture how terribly drastic that change was after all the good progress slowly going up the hill throughout the month. I don't know what should I do to keep all these folks in place, turn my art hobby into a fucking hateful routine job
and force out the stuff when I don't feel up to? Or draw some goddamn furry bait characters instead of obscure ones I really want to draw? All that crap is really upsetting, at least I'm holding around same level and don't fell even lower, thanks to all the good friends who're here with me no matter what, thank you all.

I also put some changes on my Patreon. The whole pledging thing here made me more and more concerned lately, as pledging is that you kinda "promise" to pay me AFTER one month but already get an access to creator's content right away and can easily unsubscribe anytime without paying before the charge day when you think you saw enough, which is literally a scam. Many people are maybe not even aware they don't get charged right away, some friends of mine told it to me honestly as they were used to the fact that they pay right away when they subscribe to other Patrein creators.
Patreon was suggesting me to switch to subscription billing for a long time but I kept postponing it as I'm quite a rigid person who don't like changes. But now I weighed all pros and cons, read everything thoroughly and decided to finally make it. If you're my long-time patron then it will change nothing to you, as written on screenshots. But new people will have to pay right away when they are about to peek on my content, you know, like it's done on all NORMAL Patreon pages.

Well, all I can do is hope that April will be different and better. I still have three more commissioners in my list waiting for their art, maybe I will finally go on vacation after them or maybe take few more requests, depends on my financial situation.
