Classic Cinema Romance

So glad to make it in time. Sadly I missed my chance to make an art I planned for Father's Day but I just couldn't miss 4th of July, especially after missing it in 2022 because of past summer being a total disaster. Actually, that idea was in my head for a whole year or even more, it wasn't supposed to be so complex first and was just one of the random sfw cowboy ideas I came up with during western mood wave coming on me again, idea with Tex Avery soldier and marine wolves being gay together was also a separate thing and had no big conceptual depth. Both of them also weren't supposed to be exactly 4th of July ideas. Later I developed the idea and combined both cowboy kiss and military ideas together adding cinema plot with a bit of humor to it. I still didn't think about tying it to 4th of July, just wanted to draw it at least someday. But the timing was very right this year and I decided that it can really fit that holiday which is very important for me. 

It's another rare case of me putting a lot of effort in a generally sfw piece (if you don't notice soldier's boner, which still rates as mature though), I turn very sentimental when it comes to cowboys and some characters and I'm glad to finally make that idea real. As you can see, it consists of two drawings with a bit of extra work to combine them into comic pages. I really loved the idea of a funny kiss which breaks laws of physics in a cartoony way not only by comically stretched necks but also by the very fact that two guys kiss while riding horses, try do it in real life! (or better don't) I also had some troubles while drawing soldier and marine and it turned out not the way I wanted, I imagined their kiss being more passionate with their bodies tying very tight in a passionate embrace but damn, THESE LONG SNOUTS. They're so long that I had to put a distance between their bodies and what kind of passion it is when characters are so distanced from each other? Anyway, it still looks very romantic and lovely, so I think the task was completed. 

Just a reminder that all characters are taken from old Tex Avery shorts. Cowboys Joe and Slim are from "Wild and Woolfy" 1945 short and military wolves are actually one wolf from The Shooting of Dan McGoo short from the same year. Transforming into wolves in different US military uniforms and whistling excitingly was another surreal visual gag as a reaction to Red in cartoon. But Tex Avery wolf had so many faces so I thought why not to imagine it as separate wolves? 

So, happy 4th of July to you all, hope this art will add some variety to all these same "stars and stripes underwear" artworks in your feed which people usually love to do for this day. Idk, in my opinion USA culture is too rich to limit yourself to such simple ideas. 

P. S. I have my horny energy recharged and just as I promised, I want to finish what I started with my last Volk/Vityai art, really want to do much more sexy things with it, so expect some dirty stuff soon.
