I just watched and loved every second of it so I totally bought it lol which I normally don’t. I always just wait until they become available on streaming service but it was too good to have to wait so long for a rewatch. The music was amazing. I wish they would react to it honestly think cast and crew did an immaculate job at adapting the musical to motion picture.

As a kid I fast-forwarded the second half of most of the songs. Rainbow, Dead Wicked Witch, and a few others. I love musicals, my favorite movies are all musicals. But I'm a modern girl when it comes to pacing and the songs in this movie can be so looooooooong....

One of the conditions that was prevalent among the munchkin actors was a pituitary condition that keeps the body from generating enough growth hormones, so a person retains the size and proportions of a child. There aren’t many little people like that nowadays, because treatments for growth hormone deficiency were developed in the 50s. Most little people you see in later generations have some form of dysplasia, with their smaller stature being from specific parts of their bodies, usually the upper bones of the limbs, not gaining length normally, while their heads and torsos experience fairly average growth. There were child actors among the munchkins, but not as many as you’d think from our modern norms of how little people are proportioned.

2024-11-21 18:18:16 +0000 UTCOooooh you guys should totally watch The Wiz!!! It's been a while since I watched The Wizard of Oz and TBH, I probably haven't watched it since I was young. I prefer The Wiz to the Wizard of Oz...creepy train station and all. I think The Wiz has better songs as well. I think Rizzo will likely like the songs from The Wiz better. I also prefer "Home" over "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". We're def a The Wiz household.
