Venom x Multiverse [2]

The Multiverse Loot Pack was nothing short of extraordinary. It contained treasures from countless worlds—bloodlines from Naruto, superpowers from Marvel, and spiritual elixirs from fantasy realms.

What made it even more thrilling was its lack of restrictions. No levels. No requirements. The results were purely based on luck. Whether it was a god-tier ability or a minor trinket, everything depended on the whims of fate.

Of course, nothing came for free. Both optimization and lottery draws required Life Points—a currency earned by harvesting the life force of other creatures.

Dante could possess a host and, through the system, extract their life energy, converting it into Life Points. This was the essence of the Life Reaver System—steal, adapt, and grow stronger.

The system’s newbie mission had been simple: find a host. The reward? A free ticket to survival.

When Dante first entered this world, he was a weakened, amorphous liquid. Without a host, the symbiote couldn’t sustain itself for long. Had that girl not wandered into the alley, he might have perished within minutes.

Possessing her wasn’t just an option—it was a necessity.

Fortunately, her weak mental resistance allowed him to take full control. If her willpower had been even slightly stronger, Dante could have only bonded with her, not dominated her body.

Now, with that hurdle cleared, it was time to test the system’s true potential.

“System, initiate the lottery draw.”

[Ding! Congratulations, Host. You’ve obtained a Bronze-Tier Dimensional Card!]

A glowing bronze card materialized before him, suspended in midair. Ancient patterns adorned its surface, radiating a mysterious aura.

Dante reached out, his fingers grazing the edge of the card. In an instant, a flood of information surged into his mind.

Bronze Dimensional Card

• Rank: Bronze

• Function: Opens a portal to a Bronze-Tier World.

• World Tiers:

• Bronze: Low-level worlds.

• Silver: Mid-level worlds.

• Gold: High-level worlds.

• Crystal: Ultimate worlds.

Dante stared at the card, his lips curling into a smirk. The ability to travel between worlds had fallen right into his hands, yet he wasn’t in a hurry to use it.

“There’s still much to uncover in this world,” he thought. “I’ll keep this for later.”

Dante tucked the Bronze Dimensional Card into the system’s inventory, its glowing patterns vanishing into the digital void.

“System, what world are we in right now?”

[The system cannot determine the current world. Host must investigate independently.]

Dante clicked his tongue and stretched his neck. “Fine, guess I’ll figure it out myself.”

Stepping into the shadows of the alley, he turned his gaze upward. Towering above him was a skyscraper that seemed to pierce the heavens—a sight that once would’ve left him in awe.

But that was before.

Now?

He crouched, muscles tensing, before launching himself upward. Using the spider-like abilities he had replicated, Dante scaled the building’s smooth walls with ease.

Reaching the rooftop, Dante landed silently like a predator surveying its domain. He moved to the edge and peered out over the glittering cityscape.

“Let’s test this body out.”

With a flick of his wrist, a webline shot out and latched onto a distant building. In the blink of an eye, he swung across the skyline, weaving between skyscrapers like a shadow.

No one saw him.

No one even noticed.

He was an apex predator, silently prowling the city for prey.

It didn’t take long to spot one.

On a dimly lit sidewalk below, a reporter hurried through the streets, clutching his briefcase tightly. His anxious glances and quickened pace betrayed his nerves as he entered a narrow, isolated alley—a shortcut to avoid being late.

Dante smirked. Perfect.

The man’s unease grew with every step. Shadows stretched unnaturally across the walls, and the alley seemed to close in around him. Instinctively, he hugged his bag tighter and picked up his pace.

But it was too late.

A black blur descended from above, landing directly in his path.

The reporter froze. His eyes darted upward, searching for wires or equipment that could explain what he’d just witnessed. There was nothing.

No harness. No ropes.

Just… him—a dark figure looming ominously.

“W-What do you want?!”

The man stumbled backward, his voice trembling. Panic set in as Dante stepped closer, silent and unyielding.

“D-Don’t come near me! I-I’m serious—I’ll scream!”

The threat came out weak and hollow. The man turned and bolted, but Dante had already anticipated it.

Raising his arm, he fired a webline. The sticky strands wrapped around the reporter’s leg, yanking him off balance and sending him sprawling to the ground.

Dante approached slowly, savoring the man’s terror. He grabbed the struggling reporter and hoisted him effortlessly into the air.

The symbiote rippled, black tendrils surging outward as Dante began to liquefy. The girl’s body he had been using was forcibly ejected, slumping lifelessly to the ground as he shed the form.

Now in his true liquid state, Dante flowed over the reporter’s body, consuming him completely.

[Ding! Extracting target’s life energy…]

The system’s voice echoed in his mind as the process began. The reporter’s screams were muffled as the black substance engulfed him.

[Extraction complete. Host has gained 3 Life Points.]

Dante’s consciousness surged with memories and knowledge ripped from the reporter’s mind. The man’s experiences, fears, and habits became part of him.

Without hesitation, Dante released the drained husk, tossing it carelessly onto the cold concrete.

As the system drained the reporter’s life force, his body collapsed to the ground, disintegrating into dust before vanishing completely.

Dante reverted to his liquid form, tendrils rippling as he crawled back toward the unconscious girl. The black substance enveloped her once more, coating her body completely before solidifying into a sleek layer. Slowly, the girl rose to her feet—though it was Dante who controlled her every movement.

“So that’s how it is. Raccoon City? Umbrella Corporation? If my guess is right, this must be the world of Resident Evil.”

The memories extracted from the reporter left little doubt in Dante’s mind. He had landed in a world ravaged by bioweapons and viral outbreaks—a place teetering on the edge of collapse.

The current peace, however, suggested that the first outbreak hadn’t started yet. For now, the city remained intact.

Dante frowned slightly.

“Human life force really is pitifully low.”
