In Deadpool With a System [10]

Subject 58 collided with her, expecting to bulldoze her aside. Instead, the moment of impact sent a shockwave through his skull. His vision blurred. His head rang as if someone had struck a giant gong inside his brain.

Before he could recover, two powerful arms wrapped around him like steel cables.

“Wha—”

CRACK!

A sickening snap echoed through the room. Both of his arms were crushed in Angel’s grip, twisted at unnatural angles.

“AAAHHHH!!!” The lizard-man screamed in agony, his body convulsing as his eyes rolled back.

“Enough.” Ajax’s voice cut through the chaos. He didn’t even glance at the writhing test subject as he spoke. “Leave him alive. Someone will pay good money for a pet like him.”

Angel let go, her grip loosening just enough for Subject 58’s limp body to slump backward onto the ground. He was unconscious before he even hit the floor.

“Bastards! You’ll all rot in hell!”

The fiery-haired woman snarled at them. Seeing her fellow test subject taken down so effortlessly filled her with even more rage. Rather than flee, she took a step forward, her fists clenched. Flames swirled around her hands, growing hotter by the second.

With a furious yell, she hurled a fireball straight at them.

Angel moved without hesitation, stepping in front of Ajax and the warden, using her body as a shield.

BOOM!

The explosion engulfed her shoulder, flames licking at her skin. Smoke and embers filled the air, but when it cleared, she was still standing.

The only visible damage was a charred hole in the back of her clothing, exposing a black tank top underneath. But with her broad, muscular build and fierce expression, there was nothing remotely attractive about the sight—if anything, it only made her look more terrifying.

She barely seemed fazed. But the fire-wielding woman?

Her confidence faltered. Her instincts screamed at her to retreat, and her feet shuffled back involuntarily.

“Hold on,” Ajax said, raising a hand to stop Angel from charging. “Her ability is interesting. I’ll handle her.”

Angel hesitated for a moment, but then nodded, stepping aside.

But the woman wasn’t interested in being ‘handled.’

Seeing Ajax move toward her, she gritted her teeth, fire bursting from her hands as she prepared to attack again.

Bad move.

Ajax closed the distance in an instant. Before she could react, he struck.

A single, precise hit.

Her body went limp as darkness consumed her. She collapsed, unconscious before she even felt the pain.

“Help me!”

The desperate cry rang out once more, even louder than before.

This time, the sheer force of the sound made the walls tremble.

Even Angel, who had endured countless battles, instinctively covered her ears, wincing.

But Ajax?

He didn’t even blink.

Following the sound, Ajax and his team quickly located the source—a man with an unnaturally high-pitched voice. Without hesitation, they silenced him permanently, ensuring he would never make another sound again.

With the three mutated test subjects dealt with, Ajax and his group made their way toward Dane’s room.

By the time they arrived, Dane was already awake. The moment he saw them, his eyes lit up with excitement.

“Did you guys come here for Walter?” he asked, sitting up with a grin. “Well, I hate to break it to you, but Walter’s dead. Cause of death? Refusing to let people use the toilet.”

Even after regaining consciousness, Dane’s mouth hadn’t slowed down in the slightest. It was clear that whatever had happened to him, he was perfectly fine now.

“We don’t care about Walter,” Ajax said, his tone noticeably softer than before. “We’re here to check on you. Tell me, what did Walter do to you?”

“He didn’t let me use the toilet.”

Ajax sighed. “Anything else?”

“He didn’t give me toilet paper either.”

“What did he do that actually caused you pain?”

“Do you have any idea what it’s like to have diarrhea and be forced to hold it in? That’s pain.”

Ajax, who was usually patient, was starting to lose his temper. His fingers twitched slightly, and his expression darkened. One more ridiculous answer, and Dane was definitely getting punched.

Just then, something flashed in Dane’s mind.

“I remember now! Walter injected me with some kind of poison. It felt like my entire body was being bitten by ants.”

Hearing this, the bald warden immediately spoke up. “That must be ‘Ant Jaw Black.’ Walter used that poison before to create a mutant. That guy’s ability was… well, extreme bad breath. His breath was so toxic that it could knock people unconscious. The moment he opened his mouth to speak, I shot him in the head.”

Ajax narrowed his eyes. “Find every last vial of that poison.”

“On it,” the warden said, rushing off.

Meanwhile, Ajax leaned in close to Dane’s ear and whispered, “Do you want your freedom?”

Dane didn’t hesitate. “Freedom is my greatest desire! If I can achieve true freedom—including toilet freedom—I swear I won’t make the same mistake again.”

[‘Toilet freedom’ has been declared the best phrase of the day.]

[You will never have to go to the bathroom again.]

What the—?!

Dane’s mind reeled.

A mutation like this actually existed?

On one hand, it sounded incredibly convenient. On the other hand, it felt like he had lost something important in life. More importantly, where exactly would all the waste in his body go?

Before he could dwell on it, Ajax spoke again.

“Today, you caused quite a mess,” he said, pacing around Dane’s bed. “But… I also discovered something interesting about you.”

Dane opened his mouth to respond, but before he could say a word, Ajax clamped a hand over his lips.

“Your ability… is far from dignified,” Ajax continued, his voice low and serious. “But it seems that the gas you produce has an unusual effect—it triggers mutations in certain people.”

Dane’s eyes widened. He pulled Ajax’s hand away. “Are you saying my farts can change someone’s genes?”

The sudden phrasing caught Ajax off guard.
