Eren "reason" for killing everyone on earth was his slavery to freedom like he explained. He was told from the second he was born that he was free and I guess after armin showed him that book that described the world as an empty land ready to be conquered he wanted to see that world. And I think that reasoning he gave was bullshit like : "because it was pre determined" or " I wanted y'all to be heroes to the world". Like it was kinda clear especially after the ending where paradise was bombed that eren really did what he did for selfish reasons. They wouldn't have been accepted as heroes and it wasn't some pre made plan that was put in his head by some god. I think that why I love erens character he's so complex but has a very simple drive which is freedom. Its taking the meaning of freedom to the very extreme. Also I think the point was to just say genocide is wrong giving eren any reason for his action other than selfishness kinda lessens the impact of the genocide. Like what reason do you need to kill all people on earth?? lol
