You guys are on the right track with the As and Bs! More to come!

Holding baby Herschel gave Rick the baby fever 😂

Meanwhile, you have Michonne talking about creating a charter/constitution for law & order. Because at the end of the day, there has to be a middle ground/balance between the extremes of “let it all go” and “eye-for-eye vengeance.” Even Negan had a code.

The entire point of these first episodes is that some people cannot let go of what was, and what happened. Others try. Rick is trying to move forward toward a future of “People vs The Dead.” It’s noble, even if naïve. Meanwhile, Maggie took a huge move in continuing what Gregory had started with his failed assassination attempt (think about that, too: Gregory had 3+ chances over past few seasons to move forward, but could not let go of his ego and greed). Maggie paved the way with Gregory’s execution, leading to what Oceanside has done and the Saviors now abandoning the bridge project - which we’ve heard means no trade + broken community connectivity. Not to mention how it seems she/Daryl are now about to take it Negan. So many ripple effects, based on the “Then vs Now & Future” struggle and divergent views.

"No exceptions" is what Negan said right before he killed Glenn as well. I agree with you both about the smiling. Everyone who worked for Negan that weren't slaves all gained pleasure from the stuff they did. Negan allowed them to because he enjoyed it too. They got off on traumatising people. Get what Rick's trying to do for Carl and the future buuuut maybe some of these people like Negan don't deserve to see that future. I think with the bridge he's just being hopeful that forcing them all to work toward a common goal will bring them together maybe? Not practical tbh. He's essentially asking all the survivors to help their slavers and abusers (the wives) thrive. It's an insane ask imo. I am shocked we haven't seen more from negans victims, his own people, his "wives", their husbands and so on being against Rick and trying to do the same as Maggie and Oceanside rn.
