There’s this one Japanese food that I absolutely fucking hate honestly I might even say it’s my biggest fear 😭

It’s called… Konyaku

It’s a jelly made out of kinjac I didn’t know this until right now I literally just looked it up but it has a jelly consistency and is grey with black specs

All I know is that it’s foul and I can smell it from a mile away 🤢 it’s eaten in oden which is a Japanese stew with lots of different veggies and it really good for you BUT konyaku is always in it.

I wouldn’t let my mom come near me or kiss me for days after she ate konnyaku. And all throughout my life I’d get furious when I’d come home and smell her eating it and she’d always say she waits until I’m gonna be gone or sleepover somewhere so I can eat it in peace aww my poor mama she just wanted to eat one of her favorite foods 🥺 and then I’d come home after 2 days of not being home and say “did you eat konnyaku??!!” And she’d tell me she ate is 3 days ago lol

And when I went to preschool in Japan we’d have sleepovers at the school once a year in the summer and we’d cook curry and stay up when it was dark and run around with flashlights and stuff 🥹

And while we were playing that game they made us dress up as like spies and gave us KONNYAKU to use as a weapon 🫨 I cried the rest of the sleepover I was pissed

And that lil incident really traumatized me and made me genuinely FEAR it cause all the kids in my class were teasing me and put it in all in my face 😭
