In the comics at one point Cloakโs darkness threatened to consume him and Daggers light was the only thing to satiate it. It became almost an addiction for him though, causing a strain on their relationship (yes they were a couple) in general because cloak felt he was using dagger despite her being willing to feed her light to him. The actors on the show were super friendly with each other- to the point fans insisted they were a thing (both had significant others at the time). Despite the obvious on screen and off screen chemistry, I donโt think they ever pursued a romantic relationship-publicly anyway. If I recall they started doing fewer interviews together to try and quiet the fandom. ๐ก๏ธ I was fine with them as close friends but I would have been ok for them to get together like in the comics.
